The key to smart home security
As cybercriminals evolve new ways to wreak havoc in smart homes, it’s imperative that ISPs stay one step ahead. Plume takes a multi-layered approach to security, providing services that act across every potential threat area from anomaly detection and device quarantining, to our newly launched, cyber-intrusion protection. Analysis of data taken from the Plume Cloud showed that 87% of households were attacked, 85% of those attacks were DNS-based, while preventing dangerous outbound and inbound IP events accounted for 37% and 8% respectively.

TIP selects OpenSync!
The Facebook and Deutsche Telekom-backed Telecom Infra Project (TIP) has announced that OpenSync is to be a key component of its open Wi-Fi System. With over 500 members worldwide spanning ISPs, technology companies, developers, integrators, and chipset and device makers, this new initiative will massively expand OpenSync’s capabilities and market penetration. Amongst its many benefits, the TIP Wi-Fi solution will bring ISPs the speed, choice, and flexibility needed to deliver a new wave of Smart Home Services to subscribers.

Investing in Smart Home 2.0
Since 2015, Plume has grown its smart home technology significantly. We’ve expanded into over 15 million homes and currently boast more than half a billion devices managed by the Plume Cloud. This week, we announced an additional $85M in funding from Charter Communications, Qualcomm Ventures, Belkin, Liberty Global, and others in continuing our smart home platform growth and ongoing commitment to building a smarter future for the connected home.

Now even more of Liberty Global’s subscribers will enjoy access to Plume’s Smart Home Services, including households in the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Ireland, and Poland. Plume homes just got a sixth sense!
We’re super excited to announce that we’ve just rolled out our latest service—Plume Motion—to subscribers in the US! This new service turns Plume’s existing SuperPods and enabled connected devices throughout the home into motion sensors—no need for new hardware!
A welcome return to Vegas!
Just 1 month after CES, Plume returned to Las Vegas to join the National Cable Television Cooperative’s (NCTC) Winter Educational Conference. During an exclusive fireside chat with NCTC’s Jared Baumann, C Spire’s Rob Rubinoff revealed how the ISP is working with Plume to deliver next-generation consumer experiences. Topping off a busy few days, we also shared the news that DOCOMO Pacific is the latest NCTC member to roll-out Plume’s Smart Home Services platform.
